SLEEP — A Good Night’s Sleep Is It Important?

A very hot topic these days is how do I find a way to get a good night’s rest and wake up refreshed?

How is your sleep? Do you fall asleep easily? Do you toss and turn? Do you snore? Do you wake up several times during the night?

The big question here is do you fall asleep easily, stay asleep, and wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day. I would say those of us who can say yes to all of the above questions have an “in” to what so many others are struggling with on a daily basis.

Not being able to sleep well can lead to falling asleep at the wheel while at a stop sign or red light. You can possibly fall asleep at your job. You could fall asleep while cooking or tending to a small child which could be harmful to you and others.

Also not getting good sleep tends to lead to health issues including cardiovascular, diabetes, high blood pressure, digestion issues, memory issues, fatigue, productivity issues which can affect your family, yourself and others around you.

Some people take sleep aids over the counter, CBD, supplements, Essential Oils, and on an on to no avail.

The issues of why you are not getting enough rest at night needs to be addressed and the root of the issue discovered if possible. The problem could be related to stress, worry, digestion issues, liver or gall bladder issues, overactive mind, or even a bad mattress.

Most important is to try to eliminate as many of the sleep disrupters that you can identify.

Below are five strategies that may help start you on the road to a better night’s rest.

  1. Try taking a warm bath or shower before bedtime. Taking a warm bath or shower before bedtime can help to relax your body and mind, making it easier to fall asleep. Being in the warm water can help to lower your body temperature, which can signal to your brain that it’s time to sleep. Additionally, the steam from the shower or bath can help to clear your sinuses, making it easier to breathe and relax.
