Hydrogen’s Hidden Power: A Revolutionary Antioxidant
Good Things Come In Small Pakages
Though it is not the fountain of youth, hydrogen is looking to be one of the most important — and safe — antioxidants available to us, truly affecting whole-body health. No matter what you may be looking to improve, prevent, or support, hydrogen could be something to seriously consider.
The Basics of Antioxidants
A type of unstable molecule that is made during normal cell metabolism (chemical changes that take place in a cell). Free radicals can build up in cells and cause damage to other molecules, such as DNA, lipids, and proteins. This damage may increase the risk of cancer and other diseases.
Antioxidants are molecules that neutralize free radicals, unstable atoms that can damage cells and contribute to aging and diseases. Our bodies produce some antioxidants naturally, while others must be obtained from our diet. Common antioxidants include vitamins C and E, beta-carotene, and selenium, found in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds.
Understanding Molecular Hydrogen (H2)
Molecular hydrogen is the smallest and lightest molecule, consisting of two hydrogen atoms. Though discovered centuries ago, its health benefits have only recently gained attention. Hydrogen’s unique properties make it a powerful antioxidant, capable of easily penetrating cells and tissues.
